      Agreed, especially after exercise!

Love the smell of sweaty jock/shirts/panties.

Definitely yes. If I'm at a bar with a hot gogo dancer, I give them a few bucks to let me smell their pits instead of feeling them up. There is very little that turns me on more.

      Fuck "Bathing"!
A man's body takes care of itself!
I love smelling like a MAN...and Men who do!
"Colognes for a Man"? FUCK NO!
Cologne is just an unfemminised way of saying "PERFUME". and the ONLY time I'd ever wear deodorant is on a Job Interview!

LOL... Did you beat your chest and let our a Tarzan roar after that was said?

"A man's body takes care of itself!" Is that the same logic as a dirty sock cleans itself?

Oh and I am not sure if "unfemminised" is a word, and most certainly it is spelled feminized.

I usually hear this "real man"bs from homophobic males. But I guess some gay men buy into the whole gender distinction thing. Guys who do drag be it at drag shows or radical faerie events are every bit a man as guys who do the leather thing. Personally I am ambivilant about being labeled masculine or fem. Leather after all is just another form of drag.

For your misinformed information a human body DOES "take care of itself"
DAILY BATHING strips the skin of "neccessary good bacteria" this bacteria if left ALONE removes nearly all traces of "objectionable body odors". People were raided to believe "Cleanliness is next to Godliness" this is a medical Farce!
Medically..a body cares for itself if left alone
Hey lets face it..some "Men" like to smell like a Woman, I am not among them.

"does a dirty sock clean itself"?
Well if you cover your feet with cloth of course not!
Feet left alone uncovered in Sandals have NO objectionable Odor at all.

I, personally, like the smell of a guy who bathes regularly -- with or without cologne, sweaty or not. As long as he starts out clean-smelling in the morning -- in the evening, he still smells really good. Second day without bathing, though -- no thanks.

I agree: clothes trap sweat, oil and dead skin that provide the medium bacteria need to multiply. Also, you're right about the balance of good and bad bacteria. Our bodies work in symbiosis with bacteria to help us digest certain foods more effectively, why not this?

BUT I also have to mention that sense of smell must be genetic, which helps drive our preferences. I work in an office and one of the supervisors would come in after roller-blading into work and my eyes would well up with tears how bad he smelled. He changed his clothes every day, so I didn't understand why. I wasn't the only one who reacted this way, but there was a number of people who didn't notice it AT ALL! HE certainly didn't know.

This is similar to an experiment that we did in junior high school. The teacher brought in these strips of paper and asked all of us to touch the paper to our tongues. I, along with about half the class tasted an extremely bitter substance on the paper. The other half could only taste the paper. We even swapped paper with those who couldn't taste it and we tasted the same bitter taste. This was because half of us have the receptor to taste the chemical and the other half didn't.

So, Jake, it's possible that you may not be smelling what others can and the natural no-bathing thing is a major turn-off to us because we can.

I have an acute sense of smell MotherRichard
It's about prefferences not the ability to smell body odor.
Some of us prefer a Natural Man,and some prefer the "Freshly washed Dial Soap Man".
A lot of this has to do with Human Conditioning. As Children most of us were taught that:
"Cleanliness is next to Godliness" from the age of three. With this upbringing and a learned pattern of bathing daily, Plus TV bombarding our senses with the Soap ads and ads for cologne and underarm deodorant to "Keep a Man Fresh all Day",its no wonder that 98% of American's grew up with the Idea that an unwashed body not washed with soap and then slathered with deodorant and cologne is "Unclean and dirty". Your co-workers that don't notice your stinky boss have simply got used to the odor of a "Natural Man"..one who isn't smothered in Sure "Fresh Scent" deodorant and reeking of Brute-33 Cologne. Those who have become conditioned to a Man smelling like this can ceartainly find a natural Man who is Deodorant and Cologne free offensive to their conditioned senses.

                Hi Jake.

I'm not questioning how well you can smell, I'm just proposing the possibility that you may be experiencing something different when you're smelling natural men. Kind of like a red-green color-blind person with 20/20 vision vs. a normal color vision person with 20/20 vision.

Both can see quite well, but one's experience is not quite the same as the other's.

As far as what he smelled like, he smelled like he had not showered and had worn the same clothes for a week without washing them. Now, is that a "natural" smell? Of course. But is that the same "natural man" smell that you're talking about?

I think I'm just trying to understand where you're coming from... You're right about being bombarded by the media, but is it really necessary to say that men who wear cologne and bathe every day with soap smell "like women"? What about a woman who doesn't wear perfume or cologne and goes au naturelle? Does she smell "like a natural man"?

                Richard

I'm with Octavius. Although, I haven't been physically close to anyone to smell his balls, I know I don't like the smell of sweat, even fresh sweat.

In the event that I do get close to someone, I think I would prefer it to be after a bath.

    Thu, July 20, 2006 - 4:26 AM
I think Jake is right, at least from my experience. When I was living in the rain forest of Peru and wearing almost nothing I never had an odor around me. The natural sweat and odor naturally dispersed into the environment. Its confinement into clothing and underwear that traps the odors. I have not tried this but I know it is a turn on for some people - getting themselves encased in rubber, so their perpiration can not be dispersed at all - I'm sure the odor that is created in this way is INTENSE. And may be pleasurable to some. Living in New Orleans and now in Blatimore, I came to like living with a damp body. Air Conditioning is another very unnatural phenomena of our modern world.

I base my "body takes care of itself" I posted here on biological FACT
Plus I have lived the "All Natural Man" lifestyle for more than ten years now.
I have NEVER had a person come up to me in public and say: "You stink"...becuase I simply DO NOT "stink" of body odor, foot odor, crotch funk odor..or any other "Odor". I also do not smell like a Woman drowning in "Cologne"(PERFUME)
  • Re: natural scents

    Thu, July 20, 2006 - 9:30 PM
Yes. Natural scent is good. I find armpit scent arousing. Ball scent is ok. Sweaty foot is best when mingled with the scent of fine leather.

Since I've been in physical therapy for fractured humerus and dislocated shoulder, I wear deodorant to my appointments because the professional staff may not be as fond of my armpit odor as I am. I'm not particularly fond of the scent of Old Spice stick deodorant and the list of ingredients is enough to make me look for something less dense in synthesized chemicals if I were to use a deodorant frequently.

Years ago a dermatologist told me I would see him less often if I didn't shower/bathe so frequently and if I used cooler water. Since I swim at least twice a week and shower before and after using the pool I don't often shower at home. In one of her books Adele Davis the nutritionist said that Americans are "bath happy". I think her concern was about impeding natural production of vitamin D.

Max if you MUST use Deodorant
Use all-natural Teatree Oil Deodorant it's Chem-free and WORKS!
Most Organic Health Food Stores carry it.
2 or three times per YEAR when I am forced to use underarm deodorant,it's what I use.

Thanks. I'll look in my favorite organic foods, supplements, hemp and hippie ware store on my next monthly visit. Used to be one could buy an old-style chlorophyll stick deodorant in toiletries dept or drugstore but no more. Tea tree oil will be a welcome substitute for the chemical soup of most deodorants.

I love the way my pits and nutz smell. It totally turns me on. When I was with my ex he used to bust on me because I would constantly tug on my balls and sniff my fingers when we would watch tv and not even be aware of it.

My pits also smell like cum quite alot. I eat fish but no meat (off the hoof *wink*) and several guys have told me the same thing....they just start smelling like ejaculate.

I hate taking a swipe of someone's pits and getting lock jaw from anti perspirant or a nasty mouth full of deodorant. Give me a guy straight from the gym and you wont smell a think on him when I'm done!

      The Bottom Line:
Why "Chem" your Body to create an artificial "socially acceptable smell"?
Soaps contain Chemicals and strip skin of Essential Bacteria
Anti-persperants use "Aluminum Chlorhydrate" a CAUSTIC Chemical!
And "Cologne" is a masculine Product name for "Re-formulated Ladies Perfume"!
FUCK Society...Be a MAN and smell like a MAN.
      • Re: natural scents

“FUCK Society...Be a MAN and smell like a MAN.”

Oh, again with the overplayed machismo that plays like a bad soap opera. This is the sort of thing that reminds me of the men with little dicks who go out and buy sports cars to overcompensate. “Cause daddy never hugged me….cause daddy never hugged me..”

As for the theory of harsh chemicals in soaps, in part this may be true. But there are natural soaps out there to purchase. Besides, if you start pointing out chemicals in soap, why stop there? There are harsh chemicals in just about everything we are exposed to from foods to the materials in many dwellings.

BTW, bathing was considered a pagan tradition in the medieval times. Christians saw it as immoral and took a dim view of bathing. Bathing and grooming were regarded with suspicion by moralists because they unveiled the attractions of the body. Bathing was said to be a prelude to sin. Not to mention, many were bathing together, men and women, in public baths…nude.

So I will stand by the pagans and enjoy my sex, oh I mean sin. Besides, there is no right or wrong answer to this. It is after all, purely subjective.

Yes, I skip weekend showers, but do hit the gym's sauna after my workout on Sundays, and let the heat and sweat do their work.

I always enjoy my own male scent -- pits to toes, and enjoy the company of other men with natrual BO.

I never wear deodorant and bathe daily before work, but by the end of the day, I'm on my way to ripe and aroused.

You said "Cologne is just an unfemminised way of saying "PERFUME""
        Not so.
The difference between cologn and perfume is percentage. Perfumes are scents with high concentration of essential oils whereas cologns are perfumes diluted with alchohol.

I think that no BO control AT ALL is disgusting. Even a dusting of baking soda or talcum after a shower or bath should be done at a minimum. It let's you smell like you but not smell like a boar. I use deodorant but it doesn't have a scent of its own.

Trust me. Work with enough homeless people and your opinion on "natural scents" will take on a whole new meaning.

Homeless Men smell differently than a natural man Octavius,I also work with Homeless people.
Homeless Men are (95%) alcoholics. It is different when you live in the dirty environment of city streets, have NO bathing means at all, wear the same dirty clothes for months at a time.
These men urinate and defacate IN these clothes, they spill food on them, that combined with an unwashed street filthied body makes them "smell differently" than an unwashed all natural Man.

hey Jake, I think maybe you were with the wrong females. you can't make that general of a statement, not all women smell like that. chances are, if she smells badly there is a medical reason she smells like that. the same goes for men. so in fairness, don't make that big of a generalisation. although I must say, I've known a few that did smell, quite strong, but never smelled a woman that smelled like dead tuna. lol, and I usually take my women camping for days at a time, where there isn't shower facilities available. sorry you had that bad of an experience though......

Actually eating out was one of my favorite things to do to a woman. Probally the only thing you could get me to do at this point, but it would take a lot to do that. Not my thing anymore.

I'm a gay make. There's nothing better than the natural scent of a man's balls at the end of his day or when he first wakes up. I love to get in between his legs and inhale his musky manly scent. I get turned on by it. And I even like smelling my own scent by rubbing my fingers all over my balls especially just under the shaft.I love to jerk off to it. You also know that scent that you get on your dick a few hours after cumming all over it? Love that too! Very hot!

No matter what disappointments can come in the course of the day, I have solace in knowing that I can always go home and masturbate while bringing my nose down to my ripe armpits, running a finger along my ass crack and bringing a sweaty sock to my face.

    Absolutely
Nothing gets the senses going stronger than the musky phermones of a man who has extended himself and smells like a man.
One must learn to appreciate the smell of one's self, too.
It would seem that deoderant just masks one's natural scent and fowls it when exerted.
Go without deoderant and cologne for a few days and you'll rediscover a more likeable you.
I love the smell of a man.

I love the natural scents of both men and women. A mans pit smells and tastes absolutley wonderful. Down below the scent is musky and intoxicating. I once knew a woman that never wore deoderant and might i say, she was ripe and pungent. Never knew a womans smell can be attractive and offensive at the same time. Especially down below. It can get down right unbreathable at times. Erotic and distasteful, but I loved it non-the-less.

Nothing gets me standing taller and harder than natural phernomes - and that includes men and women. There was a reason why those smells were attached to our bodies in the first place and that was to arouse us. Notice that dogs always smell each other to decide whether friend or foe. When a person is ripe, I just want to give them a tongue bath to savor all of the flavor. Good thing that they cant bottle that smell because I would be walking around with a perpetual hard-on which could inflict permanent damage to my cock! LOL

I LOVE natural scents. It all depends on the guy as far as how ripe, and what his odor makes me feel. Is the guy is hot, he could smell pretty bad. Even homeless. But the les ot the less tolerant of natural scents

Damn, quite the opinionated gang here! Gona throw in my two cents - love a natural smelling man (or woman) also hate most purfumes and colognes - dont mind a dab (just a dab) of essential oil. Big difference in a heathy body's natural scent and BO - BIG DIFFERENCE! I have smelled both. lol And to be completely honest - some folks smell better then others - diet explains alot. And Jake, dont use 50 and old in the same sentence! <grin> Hell I'm 50! Kinda cool if we could state our preferences without attacking each other or taking bitchy little pot shots, we are adults...

I don't wear deoderant either, because my pits really don't sweat, but by the end of the day still have a very mild natural odor which I like. Not strong B.O., just a mild scent. Now my crotch and balls are another story. I"ve got a really hairy crotch and my balls are super hairy. They sweat all day so by the end of the day I have a strong musky scent. I sleep in my briefs so when I wake up the next morning the crotch of my briefs are damp from sweat and my balls have that thick musky scent. I can even smell my own balls as soon as my briefs come off. The guys I hook up with get really in to it and spend a long time sniffing my balls while they jerk off. I do the same, get in between a guys legs and inhale his strong scent. Very hot!

There is something to be said about the natural musky scent a guys crotch gets in his pubes and under their balls. The sweaty stinky smell isn't as much a turn on. It's so hot when a guy opens his pants and I get a whiff of that musk.

Absolutely agree with you Jim. That fresh scent is a turn on for me too. Most mammals give off a musk to attract mates. We do as well but have been trained to wash them away. You and I and others like us are just reacting to a natural instinct. Don't let others discourage your or make you feel less.

I quit using deodorant years ago because I really like my natural scent. Body Odor is as unique as a finger print and you should be proud of the way you smell. It's a shame that the deodorant companies have convinced most everyone that your natural scent is bad and you need to get rid of it.

I hear that; don't use deodorant but bath daily.

have a fuck buddy that likes it when I come by after a good work out at the gym.

        I oblige him;

What most men fail to consider is that there's a difference between a "natural smell" and being overripe or rank-- and the difference can be purely subjective!!
Like many males, I bathe 2 times/day. I rarely wear cologne or deodorant and I never wear an antiperspirant (I'm allergic to the aluminum). When I get home after working outside all day, I am ripe (to me) but, to my BF the smell is an absolute turn-on! He'll attack me the minute that I walk through the door and I'll shower after he says hello-I missed you. Of course by that time we're showering together. I've asked him what turns him on so much and he told me "you smell like a man and there's no smell like that in the entire world. If I had my way, you would NEVER wear deodorant or cologne. You smell good just the way you are."
What I'm trying to say, guys, is that this is an argument in which NO side will win. Half of the male population will wrinkle their collective nose at the smell of a natural man and the other half will be incredibly aroused by it. Jake, I know that you've heard this saying: "One man's trash is another man's treasure."

      I agree.
The smell of a man's pits, crotch, ass can be a huge turn on.
I don't want days of not bathing BO, but the hot smell of a sweaty pit after a day's work, no deodorant, cologne, just a man's natural scent is one of the things that really gets me fuckin' HOT.

According to the latest science, while some evolutionary signals are universal, what one finds either very appealing or disgusting is very, very individual. Some of it is culturally learned, some reactions to some scents you learn from your family, but there's a broad range of triggers to certain scents. Topic at hand, as for me, I despise cologne, powders, etc. on a man. There's nothing less appealing to me than getting the stench of some guys cologne all over you. The worst is cologne on his dick or powder. Powder has talc in it and it dries out your mouth. On the other hand, I'm not turned on by rank stench. I like for a guy to smell like a man...all over. A day without bathing is fine, beyond that it starts to get a bit iffy. But this gets to be very individual again. One guy a day might be fine, for another a few days might be great. I can cum sniffin' a guys dick and balls. There's no scent more erotic than the smell and taste (related senses) of a another guy's dick and balls. And his pits....but again, this can be very individual. I was with a guy once who was very clean but some scent coming from his face was a total turn off. It wasn't cologne or powder. Others may not have reacted to him the way I did. I don't like a dirty butt. I'm simply not interested in shit. It's a turn off.
